Vodacom Fourways
The Vodacom South Africa interior fit-out, located in Fourways, Johannesburg, is a small retail shop, situated within a mall with no Green Star Rating.
7Vodacom aims to be an industry leader by implementing sustainable fitout strategies within a retail space, something that is not common. The site is situated within a mall with a good transport network and in close proximity to highways, and because it is situated within a mall, it has access to a number of amenities for the staff to access. Due to the nature of a retail space within a mall, the space has no external façade and therefore has no daylight nor does it have access to external views, but the fitout has ensured a well-designed and comfortable space for occupants.
Sustainable building features include
- 100% of lighting used within the building is LED the most efficient option.
- Sub-metering of major water and energy-consuming systems has been installed. Gathering information is key to understanding and managing building systems and assessing opportunities for water and energy savings.
- Live metering has been provided.
- Sanitary fittings have been selected to ensure water consumption is minimized.
- Energy Efficient Equipment has been selected.
- Insulation all have an ozone depleting potential of zero.
- A sufficiently sized waste recycling storage area has been provided ensuring operational waste sent to landfills can be minimized.
