Adrie has a Master in Architecture from the University of the Witwatersrand, a Postgraduate Diploma in Green Cities for Eco-Efficiency from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies at the Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands and an undergraduate degree in Town & Regional Planning from the University of Pretoria. Adrie has more than 19 years’ experience in development economics, urban management, and sustainable design.

She has worked on South African-, Africa- and Australia-based green design projects, and was the lead Green Star Accredited Professional tasked with creating a suitable custom Healthcare tool for South Africa which she also implemented on the first hospital in Africa to do so, which secured a 5-Star Green Star Design certification. Trained as a Climate Reality Leader by former US Vice President Al Gore, a Living Future Ambassador, an EcoDistrict™ AP as well as a Green Star AP+ and a director of the Regenerative Collaborative of South Africa Adrie is a strong advocate for moving away from business-as-usual, for getting off the path of least resistance and motivating for new ways to approach development and design in a way that is mindful of our impact on the communities around us, supporting the environment for future generations and shifting mindsets along the way.
