The design brief for EIB Pretoria was to create a space that reflects the core values and vision of what EIB aim to influence and change with their investment banking opportunities, whilst reflecting South African essence.

Important considerations and factors for the European Investment Bank interiors project were:
- To design a space for the user and visitor – considering ergonomics, spatial awareness and integrated solutions for streamlined business process.
- Maximize the natural light that the building provides due to lack of large windows.
- Provide flexible workstations for visitors, collaboration inspired meeting spaces.
- Have a timeless design yet celebrating authentic Southern African elements. Using their passion and drive for South African development as a feeling to experience when walking through the space.
- Plug and Play systems and interactive technology.

Sustainable building features include
- The tenant fit-out is fully integrated with the base building. As-such, the tenant fit-out benefits from energy and water efficient systems and equipment installed as part of the base building.
- Responsible environmental and waste management practices during construction.
- Sub-metering of major energy and water-consuming systems is in place.
- Water-efficient fittings are installed that limit occupant water usage.
- Environmental strategies are implemented to enhance the wellbeing of the building’s users such as access to active furnishings and providing fruits and vegetables to the occupants.
- Environmentally and user-friendly materials and products with 3rd party eco certifications are installed in the fit-out.
